Free things, a few streets away.
Porchly shows what your neighbours are giving away, with an honest status on every listing. Ask for something in one tap, pick it up, done. Got too much? Pass it on in a minute.
Android first. No ads, and your address is never shown.
How it works
Ask, reserve, pick up.
Finding something
Look around
Open Porchly and see what’s free near you, newest first. You don’t need an account to browse.
Ask for it
Pick one of the giver’s pickup times and add a note if you like. That’s the whole request.
Pick it up
When the giver reserves it for you, the pickup details appear. Collect it, tap Picked up, done.
Giving something away
Snap a photo
Add a title, say how pickup works and when suits you. Your area is shown, never your address.
Choose who gets it
Requests arrive in order, each with a pickup time and a note. Reserve for one person, or let the first to confirm have it.
Let it go
Once it’s picked up the listing closes, and everyone still waiting is told it went to someone else.
Why it’s different
Built to stop the back-and-forth.
Free stuff usually lives in busy groups where listings never close and every post gets the same question. Porchly makes “is it still there?” something you can see.
Every listing tells the truth
Each item shows where it stands right now. When it’s reserved, it says so, and it stops collecting messages.
AvailableAskedReservedGone
No “is this still available?”
Instead of a pile of messages, givers get tidy requests with a time and a note. Messages only happen inside a request, so nobody gets cold-messaged.
Your area, not your address
Listings show a rough area, like “near Elm Park”, placed to within about half a kilometre. Exact pickup details go only to the person you reserve for.
Listings expire
After 14 days a listing closes unless the giver renews it with a tap. What you see is what’s actually still out there.
Safety is free, forever
Reporting, blocking and safety tips are part of the free app and always will be. We’d never charge for staying safe.
A look inside
Plain screens, no clutter.

Is Porchly really free?
Yes. Everything on Porchly is free to take, and the app is free to use. Porchly Plus is an optional subscription for people who want extra alerts and a wider search; giving, asking, messaging and safety are never behind it.
Can I sell things on Porchly?
No. Porchly is for free items only. Asking for money, a “small fee” or payment outside the app breaks our terms, and you can report it.
Who can see my location?
Nobody sees where you are. We use your rough location, or a place you type in, to sort things by distance. A listing shows only its general area. Exact pickup details are shared with the one person the giver reserves for.
How does the giver choose who gets it?
Requests line up in the order they arrived, each with a pickup time and a note. The giver reserves for whoever suits them. On “first to confirm” listings, often porch pickups, the first request gets it automatically.
What if someone doesn’t turn up?
Either of you can cancel, and the giver can reserve for the next person in the queue with one tap. If a pickup time passes with no word, you both get a reminder, and after 48 hours the reservation is released.
Why do listings expire?
So that what you see is still available. A listing closes after 14 days unless the giver renews it, which takes one tap.
What can’t be given away?
Things like weapons, alcohol, medicines, recalled products (including drop-side cribs) and expired car seats. The full list is in our terms.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. Porchly is coming to Android first, through Google Play. iPhone comes later.
Something near you is looking for a new home.
