Child safety standards

Last updated 22 October 2026 · Questions? kowais915@gmail.com

Porchly, operated by Porchly by Owais Builds, is an app for adults to give away and find free things nearby. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in the app, in listings, in messages, or in any meeting arranged through it.

Our standards

  • Adults only. Porchly is for people aged 18 and over, and everyone confirms their age when they sign up. Accounts we believe belong to a minor are closed.
  • Banned content and behaviour. Any content that sexualises a minor, any attempt to groom, contact, solicit or arrange to meet a minor, and any sharing of CSAM is prohibited. It leads to immediate removal and a permanent ban.
  • Reporting to authorities. We report apparent CSAM and child exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant national and local authorities, and we preserve the information they need.
  • Design that limits risk. Messages only exist between the two adults in a specific exchange, so nobody can cold-message strangers. Listings show only a rough area, never an exact location. Photos have location data removed before upload.

How to report a concern

  • In the app: tap Report on any listing, user profile or message. Your report is confidential; the other person isn’t told who reported them.
  • By email: write to kowais915@gmail.com with “Child safety” in the subject. Include links, names or screenshots if you have them.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the US you can also report to NCMEC’s CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.

How we handle reports

  1. Review within 24 hours. Child safety reports go to the top of our review queue and are reviewed within 24 hours.
  2. Removal. Violating content is removed, and the listing or messages are hidden from everyone immediately.
  3. Ban. The account responsible is permanently banned, and we take steps to stop it coming back.
  4. Report. Apparent CSAM or exploitation is reported to NCMEC and the relevant authorities, and we cooperate with law enforcement investigations.
